Falling asleep is triggered by a drop in core body temperature. Twenty minutes of heat, two hours before bed, is how you make that drop on purpose.

Improves the conditions. Does nothing to the drop.
Cools the air around you. Your core temperature is a separate number.
Tries to nudge the endpoint chemically. Leaves the signal alone.
Right signal, wrong lever. And you break it anyway.
None of them create the drop. That is not a discipline problem. It is a missing variable.
Temperature. The moment your core temperature starts to fall is when sleep onset is triggered. Heating up first means it falls from higher, and further.
Light. What you saw during the day, and what you are seeing now, sets when that fall happens. Blue-heavy evening light is the part that pushes it later.
Illustrative diagram, not measured data. Heat followed by cooling creates the drop directly: the same thing a hot bath does, at a temperature that actually moves core body heat.
The mechanism only works if the timing does. Nothing below needs anything you do not already own, except the heat.
Consistency matters more than intensity. Most people who use it for sleep settle at four to six evenings a week. On a red light panel, the ideal distance is 12 to 36 inches, and more is not better.
Same construction, same testing, same warranty. What changes is space, capacity, and whether red light is built in.

What follows are associations reported in peer-reviewed research, with the study named and the limit stated under each one.
Individual results may vary. The Finnish studies are observational, mostly in middle-aged men using traditional high-heat saunas; they show associations, not proof of cause, and did not test any Heavenly Heat model. Heavenly Heat saunas are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you are pregnant or have a heart or other medical condition, talk to your doctor before using a sauna.
A sauna used for sleep runs in the evening, next to your bedroom, with the house closed up for the night. Many saunas give off adhesive and finish fumes when heated. Ours have been built without them since 1988, and the EMF numbers are published because a cabin next to a bedroom is exactly where they matter.
Built with natural woods, no glues or adhesives, and all organic materials for sensitive users.
Grounded heaters and Faraday shielding. Magnetic field under 2 mG at the seat, measured by Vitatech, an independent EMF lab.
VOC levels inside a heated 2-person sauna tested at or below the showroom air (Primary Environmental, 2024).
Precision heating technology backed by 35+ years of American craftsmanship.
True quality lies in the details. When you compare Heavenly Heat to conventional options, our commitment to material integrity and thoughtful design becomes clear.

I recommend Heavenly Heat to patients with chemical sensitivity. The clean construction and ultra-low EMF make it the only sauna I trust for my most sensitive patients.
I have MCS and was terrified of off-gassing. Zero issues. No smell, no reactions. This sauna has become my healing sanctuary. Thank you for building something truly clean.
The sleep improvement alone was worth it. I track with an Oura ring — my deep sleep went up 40% within the first two weeks of daily use.
I sleep better! All within 2 weeks of 30 minute sessions 3–4 times a week.

Still deciding? Our sauna specialists are happy to walk you through anything we have not covered here.
It is the most common assumption, and it gets the mechanism backwards. The heat itself is not what helps you sleep; the cooling afterward is. Heating up two to three hours before bed, then letting your body cool, exaggerates the natural temperature drop that starts sleep. A session right before lying down, or a hot shower straight after, works against you.
Two to three hours. That gives your core temperature time to fall past where it started. Later than that and you may still be warm when you lie down.
Red and near-infrared light do not carry the short blue wavelengths linked to evening melatonin suppression, which is what makes screens and bright overhead LEDs a problem at night. That is why the panel can be used in the evening.
Infrared saunas typically run at about 110 to 150°F, well below a traditional sauna. You do not need to sweat heavily; you need your core temperature to rise enough that it has somewhere to fall.
It is considered safe when used as directed. It is non-invasive and emits no UV. Avoid looking directly at the light, and use eye protection if you find it uncomfortable.
Usually not. The sauna plugs into a standard US three-prong outlet, and a dedicated 15A circuit is recommended. The red light panel plugs in separately; running both on one circuit at the same time needs 20A. We are happy to confirm your setup on a call before you order.
Under 2 mG magnetic field and under 7 V/m electric field at the seating position, with grounded heaters, Faraday shielding and no RF. The EMF numbers were measured by Vitatech, an independent EMF lab (read the report). Indoor air (VOCs) was tested separately by Primary Environmental. We do not say "EMF-free": it is not a testable statement.
The blinds, the cold room, the supplement, the rule. Now the mechanism: twenty minutes of heat, two hours before bed, in the room beside yours. 30 days to try it at home.
