Far Infrared 2-Person Sauna FAQ's

What is an Infrared Sauna?

Infrared saunas use far infrared heaters to emit radiant heat, directly warming the body without significantly heating the surrounding air. This results in a more gentle and comfortable heat compared to traditional saunas. The more comfortable environment allows users to experience more sweating. You don’t need to worry about ‘not feeling the heat’ even though the air temperature doesn’t reach the same levels as in a traditional sauna. There are many people who believe they get a better sweat and can even raise their body temperature more in an infrared sauna because of the more comfortable environment.

What are the health benefits of using an Infrared Sauna?

Infrared sauna health benefits include detoxification through sweating, muscle relaxation, stress reduction, improved circulation, pain relief, and potential skin purification. Infrared heat is believed to penetrate deeper into the body, promoting greater detoxification at the cellular level.

How does an Infrared Sauna differ from a Traditional Sauna?

Unlike traditional saunas, which heat the air to high temperatures which in turn heats your body, home infrared sauna uses far infrared to directly warm the body. This allows for a lower ambient temperature and a more comfortable sauna experience. Infrared saunas also run on 120V making the installation process easier.

What temperature does an Infrared Sauna reach?

Infrared saunas will heat to 165F. Most Infrared saunas only reach 150F, but ours can go all the way up to 165F. Despite the lower temperature, you still experience the benefits of sweating and detoxification due to the deep-penetrating heat.

Are Infrared Saunas safe to use?

Infrared saunas are generally safe for most individuals. The lower temperatures and gentle heat make them suitable for people who may not tolerate the high temperatures of traditional saunas. Individuals with certain medical conditions or pregnant women should consult with their healthcare provider before using an infrared sauna.

Can I install an Infrared Sauna in my home?

Yes, infrared saunas are designed for residential use and can be easily installed in various settings, including bathrooms, spare rooms, or outdoor spaces. They are available in various sizes and configurations to accommodate different space requirements and aesthetic preferences

What ventilation is required for a far infrared sauna?

There should be a minimum of 2 inches between the exterior of the sauna and any walls or ceiling. There is no need to install extra ventilation in your home.

What do NIR (Near Infrared) and FIR (Far Infrared) mean, and are they safe?

Both NIR and FIR are types of electromagnetic radiation, similar to visible light, radio waves, and X-rays. They’re categorized by their wavelengths:NIR (Near Infrared): ~750-1400nm — Often used for therapeutic light applications.FIR (Far Infrared): 3000-50,000nm — Commonly used for heat-based wellness therapies.

The term “radiation” can sound concerning, but it simply refers to energy traveling in waves. It’s important to note: Shorter Wavelengths (e.g., X-rays, Gamma Rays): Higher energy, and prolonged exposure may pose health risks. Longer Wavelengths (e.g., Infrared, Visible Light): Lower energy, and typically considered safe when used as intended.Infrared radiation, when used in saunas, operates at wavelengths that are too long to have the same high-energy impact as X-rays or gamma rays.

Instead, these wavelengths are designed to provide effects like gentle heating (FIR) or light-based stimulation (NIR), which are associated with wellness benefits.
